Dating back more than 30 years, Epsilon Electronics, Inc. has been a pioneer in the audio world with visionary products for both the home and vehicle. With a foundation established in 1983, Epsilon has a history rich in this arena, specializing in the automotive audio industry. In 1996 Epsilon became only the second U.S. based manufacturer to enter the automotive video category. As an innovator, Epsilon introduced several mobile video products, securing significant global market share in a young, evolving technology. Epsilon proudly accepted several OEM contracts from well‐known Japanese brands including Kenwood, recognizing Epsilon’s technology advancements in such a short time. Epsilon has developed 4 unique models for Kenwood based on their specifications and standards.
Epsilon’s success is attributed to the “in‐house” approach for product Research and Development. Dedicated to new ideas, a chorus of Acoustical, Electronics, Mechanical and Software Engineers form the nucleus of Epsilon R & D. This is key in developing industry “firsts”, and avoiding traditional pre‐fabricated or generic “catalog ordered” products. Epsilon prides itself as one of the few true manufacturers of car audio and video products in the United States while seeking American and Korean influence in product software development.
Diversity has also been a mainstream of Epsilon’s success. With a stable of six different marketable brands in the automotive audio/video industry, Epsilon has created a unique market share and consumer recognition. Under the Epsilon umbrella reside Soundstream Technologies, Power Acoustik, Farenheit, & Precision Power; each with its own consumer appeal and industry identity. With Soundstream and Precision Power’s decades-old history of competition caliber products, Epsilon continues to evolve these brands with the same tenacity. This allowed Epsilon to tailor direct lines for National Retail Chains like Best Buy.
Team Soundstream and Team Precision Power members are actively involved in IASCA, dBDrag, USACI, INAC, EMMA, and various auto‐sound competition organizations globally. Recent team achievements include eight first‐place awards during the premier Spring Break Nationals Auto‐sound Competition, and four first‐place awards during 2012 IASCA, USACI, and INAC World Finals. Each year since 2009, the Spring Break Nationals organization honored Soundstream Technologies with its Bruce Terrell award, presented to the manufacturer exhibiting continuous “Commitment to Excellence and Growth of the Mobile Electronics Industry.” Additionally, various mobile entertainment publications in the United States, Latin & South America, Europe, and Asia featured various Soundstream & Precision Power product performance reviews.
Forecasting the business future is never easy, especially in an ever-changing industry. This can be attested by Epsilon’s transition in the past, present-day product range and future agenda. Current plans include Epsilon Professional; which will offer professional audio, stage lighting, DJ equipment, and related accessories.
